IKBN DUSUN TUA OFFICERS PAID 5S VISIT TO "KD MAHAWANGSA"
PORT KLANG 9th May, 2012: A total of four officers from IKBN Dusun Tua paid a visit to Royal Malaysian Navy‘s (RMN) ship, KD Mahawangsa here today. The visit was organized by MPC Petaling Jaya, Selangor after the KD Mahawangsa was successfully certified with Quality Environment (QE/5S) thus recorded in history as the first warship given such recognition.
The arrival of officers from public and private organizations was warmly welcomed by the staff of the ship led by Capt. Jamel Abdul Rahman, Commander of KD Mahawangsa. A brief introduction was given by Capt. Jamel Abdul Rahman and KD Mahawangsa’s 5S chairman. Later, all the guests were taken to a tour inside the ship like the kitchen, mesh (bedroom), communications control room, engine room, storage room and others.
One of the IKBN Dusun Tua officers, Mr. Abdul Ghani bin Amat Bedah who participated in the visit expressed himself as delighted to see the historic KD Mahawangsa ship. This ship is understood to be moving at a speed of 16.5 knots, equipped with heavy weaponry, radar equipment and cargo capacity in large numbers. Equipment and environment of the ship were also well-kept.
